Wyoming Spring & Fall Black Bear Hunts

Trophy Mountain Outfitters is a premier outfitter for guided spring and fall black bear hunts in western Wyoming. We have obtained some of the best and most sought after bear bait sites in Wyoming. These bait sites are located in prime locations that consistently produce color phase and trophy black bears. With acquiring these bait sites Trophy Mountain Outfitters offers a quality spring and fall black bear hunt. The area we hunt in western Wyoming is known for producing color phase bears, including: blonde, cinnamon, and black color phase bears. Hunting is done off baits and also some spot and stalk. Black bear licenses can be purchased over the counter upon arrival for the hunt. Spring Bear season runs from May 1st – June 15th, with the fall season open September 1st – October 31st.

2023 Review

Trophy Mountain Outfitters continues to grow and add to our bear hunting opportunities. We are excited to offer bear hunts from a drive to tent camp we purchased in 2023. This camp is located 20 miles from Jackson Hole. Camp is first class and used during the summer months as a Glamping Camp for our summer guests. Adding this camp and area to our arsenal also gave us an opportunity to expand our bear hunting into another unit and opened a new area for us to bait and pursue bears.

We operated this camp and established several baits during the 2023 season. The area produced several large bears on our trail cameras, and we can’t wait to go at it during the 2024 season.

Bear hunts June 1 – 15 are offered from the camp location as well as all our fall bear bunts. This gives us the ability to offer an all-inclusive bear hunt from a camp location but gives clients the ability to visit Jackson, the national parks, and the surrounding area if they tag out early.

Bear hunts offered from May 15 – 30 are done from a cabin or motel location as we are not able to access our camp until after June 1.

2022 Review

Bear hunting in Western Wyoming continues to be a great adventure. This year we added a fall bear hunt, and this was a blast. We were able to take a huge old mature bore that was pushing the record books. Fall bear hunts are as fun if not more fun that hunting them in the spring. The weather was nice and warm, and we had lots of bears hitting each bait. Bears were also seen on a regular basis with spot and stalk.

For the 2023 season we plan on offering our spring bear hunts as usual, but will also offer more bear hunts in the fall. Both spring and fall are great hunts.
